A 44-year-old Reverend Minister of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Rev. Richard Tagoe, has been enstooled Amanonehene of Abotakyi in the Akuapem Traditional Area of the Eastern Region, with a pledge to mobilise diaspora support and attract investment for the town’s development. The businessman, who lives in Belgium, assumes the traditional title Nana Ohene Tagoe I. The Amanonehene title is intended to promote the welfare of indigenes living abroad and mobilise their support for development projects in the town. Following the traditional rites, Nana Ohene Tagoe I was carried shoulder-high and paraded through the principal streets of Abotakyi amid cheers, drumming and dancing.
