A delegation from the Convention People's Party (CPP), led by Comrade Chris Ziga, has visited the family of Ghana's first President, Dr Kwame Nkrumah, to express condolences following the death of his second son, Gamel Nkrumah. The delegation comprised members of the party's Council of Elders and National Working Committee. Receiving the delegation, Madam Samia Nkrumah and Sekou Nkrumah expressed sadness over the loss of their brother, who spent much of his life in Egypt. The family recounted how Gamel's life was shaped by the 1966 coup that toppled their father's government and forced them into exile. They said that although the family was formally invited back to Ghana by the Acheampong government in 1975, Gamel's return was short-lived.
