IGNITE, brAInify train 50 police and immigration officers in AI

Fifty officers from the Ghana Police Service's Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) have received specialised training in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to support criminal investigations and intelligence gathering. The training, organised by IGNITE Social Enterprise in partnership with brAInify, took place in Accra on October 29, 2026. It brought together senior personnel from the two security agencies, including officers from the CID's Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, Interpol, Cybersecurity, Financial Crime and Legal units. The programme focused on practical applications of AI in managing complex case files, analysing financial transaction trails, identifying manipulated digital content and preparing intelligence reports for command-level decision-making. Facilitated by two AI specialists from the United Arab Emirates, the workshop also covered the detection of synthetic media, including AI-generated images, audio and manipulated text.
