Deputy Education Minister Dr Clement Apaak has clarified that an earlier incident involving the headmaster of Obuasi Senior High Technical School (SHTS) concerned allegations of a fetus burial on the school premises, not sexual abuse. Speaking on JoyNews’ News Night on Thursday, October 22, 2026, Dr Apaak said the incident, which reportedly led to students assaulting the headmaster, was separate from the sexual abuse allegations that have since emerged. “It is important to indicate that while there is a report about an incident in the same school involving the same headmaster, that report was in relation to allegations of the burial of a fetus, which was said to have generated a reaction from a section of the students, leading to an assault on this very same headmaster,” he said.
