He says he was the one who initiated the relationship, but the court dismissed his evidence</i></b><br><br><blockquote>A former New Jersey elementary school teacher who gave birth to a child fathered by her underage former student has pleaded guilty in the shocking sex abuse case — even as the victim insists he initiated the relationship and wants her charges dropped.<br><br>Laura Caron, 36, pleaded guilty to second degree endangering the welfare of a child with sexual conduct, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland announced on Oct. 30.<br><br>The creepy ex-educator faces five years in state prison under a plea agreement.<br><br>Caron first met the boy, born in 2005, when she taught him and his brother fifth grade at Middle Township Elementary School in Cape May Court House.<br><br>The family remained close with the pervy teacher, even allowing their two sons and daughter to sleep at her home several nights a week, according to Daily Mail.<br><br><b>But prosecutors say twisted teacher had “inappropriate sexual relations” with her former pupil in a relationship that began when he was just 11 in 2016 and continued until he was 15.</b><br><br><b>She got pregnant when the boy was 13 and gave birth to a daughter in 2019.</b><br><br><b>The disturbing secret remained buried for years — until December 2024, when the boy’s father noticed an uncanny resemblance between Caron’s child, himself and his son in a Facebook photo.</b><br><br>Then all hell broke loose.<br><br>Investigators uncovered troubling details, including allegations that the victim’s brother once witnessed Caron sexually assaulting his sleeping sibling.<br><br><b>The boy’s sister also recalled falling asleep beside her brother, only to awaken and discover him in Caron’s bed, ABC6 reported.<br><br>But the victim, now about 21, has defended Caron and said he was the one who initiated the sexual relationship.</b><br><br><b>“They need to drop all charges. I wasn’t groomed or raped or manipulated by her. She never initiated anything,” he told the Mail. “I started everything. If it was up to me she wouldn’t have been in jail.”</b><br><br>After serving her prison sentence, Caron will be on lifetime parole. Cape May County Correctional Center.<br><br>Caron, a former basketball player at Pennsylvania’s Cabrini University, was charged on Jan. 15. 2025, with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, Sutherland announced at the time.<br><br>She was indicted that June.<br><br>“Teachers hold a position of great trust, and the allegations in this case represent a deeply troubling breach of that trust,” Sutherland said in his announcement.<br><br>Caron must also surrender her teaching license and all future public employment.<br><br>She will also undergo an evaluation to determine whether her behavior is repetitive or compulsive, a finding that could affect her sentence.<br><br>Caron is scheduled to be formally sentenced on Jan 8, 2027.<br><br>She will also be required to register on the Megan’s Law Offender Registry and subject to parole supervision for the rest of her life.</blockquote><a rel=ugc href="https://nypost.com/2026/10/31/us-news/nj-teacher-who-had-baby-with-13-year-old-student-pleads-guilty/">https://nypost.com/2026/10/31/us-news/nj-teacher-who-had-baby-with-13-year-old-student-pleads-guilty/</a>
